Super Green Juice Loaded w/ Nutrients
There are many benefits we can reap from REAL food. We’ve all heard the old adage, “You are what you eat”, and of course, intuitively, we know that is absolutely true. Nonetheless, we often don’t know WHAT to eat to feed certain parts of our body.
We are told to eat vegetables, eat salad, eat this eat that. However, WHAT is this and that??
I have compiled a list below of NINE SUPERFOODS that will help you choose wisely, AND, the reasons for choosing wisely. The human body is an amazing piece of machinery that works for us most of the time. Feed your body well and it will serve you well. However, not all of us can consume these wonderful vegetables, or more to the point, even want to! Therefore, to help you get the most out of all those fabulous cruciferous vegetables I have also listed below our fabulous supplements that will help support parts of the body that we need to target for our health, keep our brains alert and our skin glowing (not to mention our weight!!)
As always, please
“digest” (pardon the pun) the info below, and if you have any questions, I am
always available via Email, text or call. I am here to help.
KALE:
Kale is bitter and
quite hard on the gut. In fact, anything bitter is really good for your liver,
removing fat from the liver, decongesting the gallbladder, and making more
bile. Kale contains tons of Vitamin C, K, and A, but mostly what it will do is
help to “detoxify” your liver. Kale is also, anti-estrogenic, therefore, if you
have a build-up of estrogen at any time it will help balance it (recipe below
for best way to eat kale).
CABBAGE:
Cabbage provides
L-Glutamine which is a thin nutrient that is great for healing the heart, brain
muscle, leaky gut. Cabbage juice is fabulous for ulcers, anything related to
IBS, acid reflux and heartburn (drinking it or use for stock).
BRUSSEL SPROUTS:
Brussel sprouts
are similar to cabbage; however, these have no negative effects on the thyroid
as they do not deplete iodine from your thyroid as other cruciferous vegetables
do. Adding sea kelp to cooking will help.
RADISH:
Radish is really
high in Sulfur which again is good to help detoxify the liver, specifically
chemicals / heavy metals etc. Great for Sinus Mucus Congestion, they help pull
out mucus, especially the Spanish black radish.
You can take them for the sinus congestion, deep mucus in the lungs that
you cannot get out.
BEETS:
Beet Tops are
great for potassium, more than any other vegetable in fact. Beet itself is
loaded with nitric oxide, which is good for decreasing tension in the arteries,
decrease blood pressure. Helps to Increase Testosterone and Balancing Estrogens.
Really good for the liver and gallbladder.
ASPARAGAS:
Asparagus has not
just fiber to feed the colon but it’s very anti-anxiety, good for relaxation
and superb for stress as It’s loaded with Vitamin B1. Many people notice when
they eat asparagus, they become very calm up to 24 hours after. They are also Anti-diuretic.
Helps prevent the formation of kidney stones too.
GARLIC:
Garlic is THE most
potent anti-cancer, anti-viral, anti -bacterial, anti-fungus and anti-yeast. Garlic
is an all-round “cleaner”, cleaning up bad microbes in your system. A fabulous
immune builder.
TURMERIC:
Turmeric is a
powerful anti-inflammatory agent. Good for the brain and considered an-anti
aging nutrient.
Parsley:
Parsley commonly
used as a garnish is way more than that and very underrated. In fact, it has
more Vitamin A than Kale. Three times the Vitamin C than oranges and it has
twice the iron of spinach and a massive amount of Vitamin K. Super food for
sure. As I mentioned, these greens can be very bitter, therefore, Take parsley and
combine with kale and mix with lemon juice. Add to smoothie or your green
juice.
Recipe:
Kale/Parsley Pine Nuts, Olive Oil, Pink Salt, Juice of half Organic Lemon.
Gently massage
kale with tablespoon of olive oil for a minute or two. Add the parsley and
continue to massage for 15-20 seconds. Place in bowl, add more olive oil, pink
salt, lemon juice and toasted pine nuts (walnuts if preferred). Massaging the
kale help the release of enzymes making it easier on the gut and cuts back a
little on the bitterness.
Asparagus Soup: When recipe calls for stock, I would use cabbage water for added healthy benefit.
